Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space, and District Council Candidate Christof Herbert visit JOPP – Exchange on Innovation, SMEs, and Future Technologies

The economic situation is currently challenging for industrial companies in the district. Over the weekend, 1,700 people demonstrated in Bad Neustadt in response to personnel measures at Valeo and Preh. All the more reason for JOPP to celebrate the end of short-time work at the turn of the year and to look ahead. The visit by Federal Minister Bär was also intended to contribute to this forward-looking outlook.

The visit focused on personal exchange with company management and discussions on ways to support industry in the district. During a tour of the Bad Neustadt site, Dorothee Bär and Christof Herbert gained insights into production processes, current development projects, and the strategic direction of JOPP and IFSYS for the future.

Special attention was given to forward-looking technologies, sustainable production approaches, and the challenges faced by medium-sized industrial companies in the international market. JOPP particularly highlighted the opportunities arising from potential government contracts in defense and space for SMEs. Available capacity within the German Medium-Sized Companies could be utilized promptly. JOPP is part of the Franconian initiative to scale modern space technologies, the so-called New Space, and a member of the BDI’s initiative of the same name.

"The visit to JOPP clearly demonstrates the immense innovation potential within German SMEs. Family-owned companies make a vital contribution to the technological independence and competitiveness of our economy," emphasized Dorothee Bär.

The management of the JOPP Group and IFSYS also underscored the importance of dialogue between politics and business. "Open exchange with political decision-makers is essential to further develop the framework for innovation, investment, and securing skilled personnel," the company stated.

The visit highlighted the role of the JOPP Group and IFSYS as strong industrial partners and attractive employers in the region, as well as their commitment to technological advancement and sustainable growth.
