Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs and Deputy Minister-President Hubert Aiwanger visited JOPP’s headquarters in Bad Neustadt. Together with District Administrator Sonja Rahm and Mayor Michael Werner, he learned about the company’s development, current technology projects and the future prospects of the site.
The discussions focused on JOPP’s strategic development and new business areas in robotics, defence and space. JOPP Managing Director Martin Büchs presented current robotics solutions and development activities, highlighting how the company’s expertise from the automotive industry – particularly in precise data measurement and the control of mechanical movements – can be applied to new technologies.
A key focus was the development of solutions for robotic joints and gear systems, as well as the growth potential of the humanoid robotics market. JOPP also presented ongoing R&D activities and planned projects related to the Bavarian Transformation Fund.
Hubert Aiwanger emphasized the opportunities arising from leveraging existing industrial expertise for new applications: “Medium-sized companies in particular have a wealth of expertise from traditional industrial sectors that can also be applied to new applications. This is not about an arbitrary change of direction, but about further developing existing capabilities in areas such as robotics, automation and high-tech.”
The importance of skilled employees in driving this transformation was also discussed during the visit. District Administrator Sonja Rahm and Mayor Michael Werner highlighted the importance of future-oriented jobs for the region.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss the framework conditions for research, development and industrial innovation in northern Bavaria. For JOPP, expanding into new technology fields is an important part of its transformation strategy and an opportunity to transfer existing expertise to new markets while actively shaping the future of the Bad Neustadt site.
