The automotive supplier JOPP, which is based in Bad Neustadt, announced that the company was going to invest 7 million € in a new development centre. In the headquarters in Bad Neustadt, 100 jobs will be created at the company site "Am Donsenhaug" (corner BayWa crossroads); employees from development, project management, sales and purchasing will be based there. Today, the JOPP centre of competence for gearshift technology is based in Bad Neustadt. This will be supplemented step by step by further applications regarding electromobility. This way, the automotive supplier wants to make itself fit for the future offering an attractive work environment.
Since JOPP has already enlarged the development team, smaller extensions and relocations currently take place. Recently an own in-house advance development department has been separated from series development in order to be able to respond to customers in an ideal manner with concepts and prototypes. Further growth was expected in conventional transmission where JOPP stands out from competitors thanks to innovative lightweight design and sensor solutions. But also new product fields with regard to heat management and actuators would be opened up.
Over the past years, JOPP had repeatedly expanded capacities, both in the headquarters in Bad Neustadt, in Großbardorf at the subsidiary IFSYS and also in the company sites in the Black Forest, the Eifel, the Czech Republic and Hungary. In total, JOPP was able to almost triplicate the turnover in the Group over the past seven years. Among the main customers, VW, Porsche, Ford, ZF, Getrag and Bosch are to be named.
"The new development center in Bad Neustadt opens up new possibilities for architectural design and extension", says Dr. Hubert P. Büchs, shareholder and Managing Director at JOPP. JOPP's aim was to create attractive workplaces. Finally, JOPP wanted to win the best engineers and experts. In the course of this, also new business sectors would be opened up. The new development center is planned to be completed on occasion of the 100-year company anniversary in 2019.
