Comprehensive cooperation in test engineering agreed with ATi
The EMS service provider JOPP Electronics located in Villingen-Schwenningen Germany, assembles printed circuit boards. The PCB’s are manufactured for in-house automotive applications within the JOPP Group and also externally directly to external industrial customers. It has just been announced that Jopp have entered into a strategic partnership with Munich-based A.T.i. Software GmbH to develop ICT test solutions for Teradyne-Test-Systems. "We want to draw on the experience and the great technical potential of a long-standing service provider in the development of test applications. Through extended test concepts, the optimisation of test coverage and the use of in-system programming for our assemblies, we will achieve an improvement in quality while increasing capacity at the same time. We have used the period of reduced demand during the Corona period to reposition ourselves. After comprehensive analysis of the market, we have selected to work with the globally recognised and respected ATi," said Christian Bock, Managing Director at JOPP Electronics. JOPP has decided to actively publicise this step, as many EMS companies probably have similar challenges. JOPP has summarised the analysis in a White Paper.
Herbert Reitmeier, founder and long-time managing director of A.T.i. Software GmbH from Munich added: "We work for well-known OEMs, and are pleased about the increasing interest from the EMS market. Obviously, more and more people are recognising the potential that external project planning and the creation of test applications for Teradyne-Test-Systems brings. Especially the combination of In-System-Programming on one adaptation offers great advantages to the customer. Our test solutions for Teradyne and Göpel systems offer optimum test coverage, test performance and stability at reduced overall costs.
He added that Corona was an incentive to accelerate this technology within the company. He added that an even greater trend towards outsourcing of test equipment projects is now expected: "We were able to master the challenges during the Corona crisis and deliver our projects on time. For years, we have been installing many of our projects worldwide via remote access at the customer. We were able to use and further expand this experience during the Corona phase".
