Every year automotive supplier JOPP traditionally supports local social welfare organizations with its Christmas donation. This year the donation of EURO 3,000 is going to the Jugend- und Behindertenhilfe (JuBe) in Oberlauringen.
An outstanding feature of the “Gottesgüte” facility is the close link providing both adolescent and disabled welfare services in the sense of practiced inclusion. Emotionally disturbed and/or mentally disabled children and adolescents with learning difficulties as well as children and adolescents who are normally gifted are looked after together. The ages of the children and adolescents range between pre-school and young adults. The small size (53 places split into 6 groups) enables an educational concept based on the family model. A school also belongs to the facility. The combined personal and spatial situation of both a living environment and school ideally creates both familiarity and proximity in more senses than one.
The facility employs teachers, social care workers, social education workers, childcare workers as well as a psychologist, a remedial teacher and a horse riding therapist for all groups.
JOPP Managing Director Martin Büchs handed the donation to Gerhard Zimmermann, General Manager of the Jugend- und Behindertenhilfe in Oberlauringen. Mr. Zimmermann was very pleased to accept the donation: “This financial support will enable us to purchase several bicycles and equip our snoezelen room with some water columns and other accessories.”
The children were especially pleased to receive the many games and books which JOPP employees had donated.
The facility’s children’s choir said thank you by singing Christmas songs.
