Official Opening Ceremony at JOPP in Villingen

The official opening ceremony of the new corporate building for Jopp Electronics GmbH took place recently in Villingen Schwenningen. Since 2002 JOPP had business premises in Rottweil when it was still known as Grimm Elektronik GmbH. VES GmbH was relocated there from St. Georgen in 2015 and JOPP then decided to merge both locations on the “Auf Herdenen” industrial estate in Villingen-Schwenningen.

The business which now has almost 100 employees has already been operating its production process in the new premises since October 2017. “We initially concentrated on the supply to our customers,” Christian Bock, Managing Director of the JOPP site, stated. The opening ceremony was therefore deliberately planned to take place at a later date. JOPP in Villingen-Schwenningen belongs to the family-run JOPP Group with its registered office in Bad Neustadt (Bavaria) with a total of 2000 employees. The new site in the Black Forest is the head office for JOPP’s electronics business and is therefore of particular importance to the company. The site manufactures and also develops electronic components. A particularity within the JOPP Group is that this site not only supplies customers in the automotive industry but it also has customers in the area of medical engineering as well as in various other industrial sectors.

The opening ceremony was attended by almost 200 guests, including employees with their families, the companies which were involved in the construction of the new building and representatives of the town. A number of guests from the JOPP headquarters were also present.

Dr. Büchs, Managing Director of the JOPP Group, welcomed the guests. It can be traced back to him that the company is located in the Black Forest. It was therefore no surprise that he was proud to present the new building and the ideal conditions for manufacturing electronics, such as the flooring, air conditioning and air filtration. The Lord Mayor of Villingen-Schwenningen, Dr. Rupert Kubon, also gave a short speech expressing his pleasure that the company was maintaining its site in the town.

Martin Büchs and Christian Bock, the two Managing Directors in Villingen-Schwenningen, spoke about dealing with the challenges of the building site while also maintaining supplies to customers as well as the significance of electronics for the future of the corporate group. Both men explicitly expressed their gratitude to the employees for their commitment during the past year.

Church blessing was then given to the new building by Peter Krech from the protestant community and Ewald Beha from the catholic community.

The guests were able to enjoy the celebration in a heated marquee. A barbeque buffet was provided by Hader Karle from Weilersbach.
